Operation |
| |
The upper chamber is Feed chamber and the lower one is Filtrate chamber. A suitable reusable
filter cloth is operational in between the chambers. Depending upon the configuration, one of the chamber is kept fixed and the other moved up & down. The moving chamber is assisted with
locking arrangement. The operation of filter can be broadly divided into 4 stages. Filtration, cake washing, dewatering and discharge. Additional sequences can be adopted depending upon
requirement |
|
| |
|
|
Filtration : |
| |
| Feed and filtrate chamber are held pressed with each other with reusable filter cloth in between them. Liquid Is fed in the feed chamber. Suspended solids start getting
accumulated on the filter cloth. Clear filtrate passes into the filtrate chamber and flows out. After sufficient build up of cake sensed by pressure switch or the time limit. whichever happens earlier, filtration cycle comes to an end. |
| |
Cake washing : |
| |
Cake wash liquid is fed Into feed chamber for effecting replacement cake washing. Washed liquid can be collected separately. Multiple type cake washing can also be done. |
| |
Dewatering : |
| The formed cake inside the feed chamber is squeezed either pneumatically or
hvdro-pneurnancatlv. All the held up liquid inside chamber and the voids of suspended solids is
removed out and taken for further processing. Hot air can now be fed into the chamber for further
drying of solids. |
| |
Discharge : |
The locking dts-enqaqas the two chambers.
Drive motor starts to discharge Out the solids.
After complete discharge the two chambers close in again
to start the next cycle. |

KORUBELT |
| Rubber Belt Vacuum Filter |
| |
|
| |
Description |
| |
• |
Highly suitable for large through puts, high porosity materials, minerals, dye-stuff etc. |
• |
Overcomes all disadvantages of all other vacuum filters put together. |
• |
Filtration takes place on an endless variable porosity filter cloth. |
• |
A thick rubber belt supports the endless filter cloth from below. |
• |
Slurry feed, gravity filtration, vacuum fiitration, multiple cake washing, dewatering, cake discharge, cloth cleaning, alignment take place continuously and un-interruptedly. |
|
| |
|
Salient Features |
| |
• |
Operations are truly continuous |
• |
Works in consonance with natural filtration parameters. |
• |
Gives extremely conststant operational parameters. |
• |
No oceanic feed slurry movement |
• |
Least vacuum losses |
• |
No shearing and rubbing forces acting on the filter cloth |
|
| |
 |
| |
Applications |
| |
|
• |
Highly suitable for solids with high porosity and filter a bilit. |
• |
High through puts are required |
• |
Fertilisers, minerals, various chemical industries, dye-stuff and many others. |
|
| |
|
The Filter consists of |
|
|
|
| |
 |
Endless rubber belt |
| |
An endless rubber belt with traversing grooves drains the filtrate towards holes positioned along the belt. Synthetic plies encapsulated in the rubber part below the grooves serve to
withstand the longitudinal stresses to which the belt is subjected. |
| |
Endless filter cloth |
| |
| It retains the cake and moves together with the belt. Various
MOC, porosity, weaving type ere. are available. |
|
|
| |
Vacuum box and wear belts |
|
| |
A vacuum box below the belt is mounted along the filter and collects the filtrate. through a manifold to
the receivers. The box at its tops-de has two lips covered with low friction synthetic strip liners that seal
through intermediate wear belts between the bottom side ofthe belt and the surface of the strips. Since
the belt Is the most expensive part of the filter these endless narrow belts serve as sacrificial
component that takes the wear between the surfaces, protects the rubber belt and secures against
vacuum leaks. |
| |
|
Cake discharge end |
| |
| Once the belt reaches the end of the vacuum box the cake drying portion of the cycle terminates and the cloth leaves the rubber belt. The cloth continues moving. changes direction over the discharge roll and the cake drops through a chute for further handling. |
|
|
|
|
 |
Filtrate Manifold |
| |
A filtrate manifold collects the mother and wash liquids to one or more vacuum receivers.
